The third meeting of the 8th academic committee of the State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry was held online in November 6, 2022. Academician Jun Chen, vice president of Nankai University, Academician Lihe Zhang, academic advisor of the Key-Laboratory, Academician Zhenhe Tong of Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Henry Nai Ching Wong, Academician Jinpei Cheng, Academician Shengming Ma of the Advisory Committee, Academician Zhenfeng Xi, director of the Academic Committee, Academician Qilin Zhou, Academician Yongqiang Tu, Academician Xuhong Qian, Academician He Tian, Academician Bao'an Song, Academician Zuowei Xie, Academician Lizhu Wu, Academician Meixiang Wang, Prof. Yu Liu, Prof. Zhen Xi, Prof. Xiaoqing Zhu, Prof. Chunming Cui, Prof. Yongsheng Chen, Prof. Gong Chen and relevant leaders of the Science and Technology Research Department of Nankai University attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Academician Zhenfeng Xi.
At the meeting, Prof. Chunming Cui, the director of the Key-Laboratory, made a work report from 2021-2022 which reviewed the progress of the Key- Laboratory in scientific research, team building, talent training and platform construction in the past year and pointed out the development challenges faced in the future. The experts at the meeting highly affirmed the excellent achievements of the Key-Laboratory and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the future development of the Key-Laboratory and the reorganization next year. Jun Chen welcomed the experts attending the meeting on behalf of Nankai University and thanked the experts who have cared and supported the Key-Laboratory for a long time. He pointed out that the valuable suggestions and opinions put forward by the members would provide strong guidance for the future development of the Key-Laboratory and hoped it would be carefully sorted out and summarized. At the same time, he emphasized that Key-Laboratory should not only maintain their traditional advantages, but also maintain integrity and innovation in the future. We should strengthen basic research, meanwhile actively promote the transformation of achievements. In terms of talent introduction and training, we should make a long-term plan and layout.
